2021 Wiener Neustadt, Austria | Homecoming
Historical Kasematten

For just under a month in the fall of 2021, the historic Kasematten in Wiener Neustadt will be the venue for a very special and exclusive exhibition: Camillo Stepanek will be exhibiting his ‘Pop Art Nouveau’ artworks for the first time in Lower Austria in a large solo exhibition entitled “Homecoming”.

Camillo Stepanek has many ties to the city where he spent his teenage and school years:
“After many international exhibitions, I have never lost the love for my hometown and I am especially pleased to come home to Wiener Neustadt artistically with the very first art exhibition in the historic Kasematten.”

The historic Kasematten were celebrating a premiere:
For the first time, the halls, which were built in the early Middle Ages and were extensively renovated for the 2019 state exhibitions, were used as an art exhibition venue. Stepanek designed an installation concept and let the historical walls shine with the glamor of his ‘Pop Art Nouveau’ paintings on about 470 square meters. Special thanks go to the Province of Lower Austria and the City of Wiener Neustadt for the magnificent realization and the excellent cooperation.

More than 400 people did not want to miss this unique opportunity – despite the shortened duration of the exhibition – and visited the exhibition to experience the powerful charisma of the artworks in these extraordinary premises.
It was a great success for all involved and a cultural highlight for the culturally rich city of Wiener Neustadt.
